Discovering Firriato

Firriato is a prestigious name in the Sicilian wine landscape. Established in the 1980s by the Di Gaetano family, this company has made a significant contribution to the rebirth and development of Sicilian viticulture. It owns several estates scattered in the most picturesque regions of Sicily: in Trapani, Favignana, and on Mount Etna, each with a unique character that allows Firriato to offer a wide range of high-quality wines.

The heart of Firriato resides in Trapani, where sunny and windy hills host flourishing vineyards, nourished by clay-rich and marl-rich soils. The company has chosen to primarily enhance indigenous grape varieties, also integrating those international ones that best adapt to the Mediterranean climate.

Firriato also owns the Calamoni estate in Favignana, a jewel in the Egadi archipelago. Here, among ancient limestone rocks and a mild climate, native varieties such as Nero d’Avola, Perricone, Catarratto, Grillo, and Zibibbo thrive, giving wines of unparalleled elegance.

In the acclaimed wine region of Etna, Firriato’s Cavanera estate extends over more than 80 hectares of volcanic soil, rich in minerals. Here, old and precious vines are cultivated on basaltic stone terraces, offering a wine that is a tribute to the history of Etna viticulture.

Firriato embodies the winemaking passion of its founders, Salvatore and Vinzia Di Gaetano. With scrupulous attention to quality, respect for nature, and the exaltation of various grape varieties, Firriato has evolved into a model of innovative and quality-oriented winemaking business, gaining recognition and awards, as well as increasing consumer consensus.

Today, Firriato is a living testament to the excellence of Sicilian wine, with a clear mission: to enhance the Sicilian wine territory and offer wines of exceptional quality. With a deep bond with the land and an unshakeable commitment to excellence, Firriato brings the best of Sicilian wines to the world.
