Bianco di nera – Organic semi-sparkling wine
Bianco di Nera is a blend of Nero Cappuccio, Chardonnay, and Inzolia, cultivated in certified organic vineyards that are over 10 years old. The vineyards are situated in organic and fairly deep clay soil, providing a favorable habitat for these grapes. Hand-harvested in late August and mid-September, the grapes undergo gentle pressing and maturation in steel for about 4 months. Subsequently, the wine undergoes a second fermentation in an autoclave (Martinotti system) to enhance its aromas and softness.
It presents a beautiful pale straw yellow color with green reflections. The bouquet is rich and captivating, with notes of green apple and white pear joining light spicy hints and aromatic vegetal nuances. On the palate, Bianco di Nera is fresh and creamy, revealing excellent sapidity and drinkability. Despite its freshness, this wine boasts an alcohol content of 12% vol.
Milazzo
The Milazzo winery is a historic family business located in Campobello di Licata, in the heart of southern Sicily. Since 1880, for five generations, the Milazzo family has passionately devoted themselves to viticulture, enhancing native grape varieties and experimenting with new winemaking techniques. The winery stands out for being a pioneer in the production of Metodo Classico in Sicily.
Today, the management is in the hands of Giuseppina Milazzo and Saverio Lo Leggio, who continue to enhance the family’s wine traditions, with particular attention to sustainability and organic farming.
The winery’s vineyards, spanning 97 hectares in the Terre della Baronia area, host native grape varieties such as Inzolia, Catarratto, Nero d’Avola, Nerello Cappuccio, and Perricone, alongside international ones such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Viognier, and Pinot Nero.
Milazzo’s philosophy is centered on the organic certification of the vineyards, obtained in 2012, and on reducing environmental impact in all stages of production. Among the wines produced, in addition to whites and reds with personality, the Metodo Classico sparkling wines stand out, symbolizing the winery’s innovative capacity. The kingfisher logo, present on their bottles, is a sign of their commitment to preserving the environment and producing genuine wines.
