Almerita Brut is an expression of elegance and sophistication from the Sicilian winery Tasca D’Almerita. This sparkling wine, produced using the traditional method, is made from Chardonnay grapes grown at an altitude of 450-900 meters and aged for two years on the lees. With its fresh aroma of young fruit and an elegant, creamy flavor, Almerita Brut is the ideal choice to accompany grilled fish dishes, crustaceans, shellfish, and first courses with seasonal vegetables. It is also an excellent choice for formal aperitifs.

Almerita Brut – Classic Method, Vintage, Sicily DOC

The Almerita Brut sparkling wine by Tasca d’Almerita is a sparkling wine of significant importance among Sicilian bubbles. It is produced from Chardonnay grapes from the Cava Rina vineyard, which covers about 16 hectares and is located at about 500 meters above sea level. These plants, about 28 years old, enjoy excellent south/south-west exposure, essential for grape maturation, and have grown in a climate with mild winters without humidity and hot, stuffy summers.

The harvest takes place towards the end of August, with manual picking. The malolactic and alcoholic fermentation occurs according to the Traditional Method, with a second fermentation in the bottle. The wine is aged for 24 months on the lees.

Visually, Almerita Brut has a golden yellow color with brilliant reflections and a fine, persistent perlage. Its bouquet offers a broad aroma that evokes ripe yellow-fleshed fruit and the crust of freshly baked bread. On the palate, the creaminess and softness are balanced by freshness, creating a wine that invites you to drink glass after glass.

In addition to the Regaleali estate, owned by the Tasca d’Almerita family since 1830, four other estates have been added over the years: Capofaro in Salina, Tascante on Etna, the historic Whitaker Estate on the ancient island of Mozia, and Sallier de La Tour in Monreale. Each Estate has a distinctive personality and tells a different version of Sicily.

Tasca d’Almerita’s work focuses on preserving these places for future generations, with constant attention to the safeguarding of each individual ecosystem. The company follows the SOStain program, which offers the opportunity to measure through rigorous scientific indicators their level of sustainability and to continuously improve.
