Medlar Jam – From the Madonie Park, Organic, Pectin-Free

Bergi’s medlar jam is a product made exclusively with fruit from the farm. Without pectin and without thickeners, the jam is prepared with medlar, cane sugar, carob seed flour, and lemon juice. The fresh seasonal fruit, grown and harvested directly on the farm according to organic farming principles, gives the jam an unmistakable and authentic taste.

The production takes place through a careful and artisanal process: from the harvesting and selection of the fruit, to washing, cooking, hot filling of the jars, rapid cooling, storage, labeling, and sale. The result is a jam with a delicate flavor, rich in properties thanks to the high concentration of tannins, organic acids, sugars, and vitamin C present in the medlar.

Bergi

The Bergi Agricultural Company is a family business located in the hills of the Bergi Agriturismo, not far from Castelbuono, one of the most characteristic centers of the Madonie Park. The company, managed by four young sisters with different professional skills, extends for about 100 hectares and practices entirely organic farming, certified by SUOLO E SALUTE.

The passion for nature, respect for the environment, and the maintenance of biodiversity are at the center of the company’s philosophy. Bergi is committed to selecting only native raw materials from the Sicilian territory and the Madonie Park for its productions, contributing to the enhancement of local products.

The main products of the company include honey, EVO oil, manna, and traditional preserves such as jams and compotes. Bergi is also one of the producers of Sicula Black Bee Honey, Slow Food Presidium, and actively participates in projects for the conservation of endangered species and for the enhancement of local biodiversity.
