The Marchesi di San Giuliano sicilian orange marmalade is made with bitter orange grown on the San Giuliano estate – in the foothills of Mt. Etna. Their lands, of the most fertile soil in all of Sicily, offer first-class products.
The recipe for these estate-bottled marmalades starts with organically farmed oranges grown on the San Giuliano estate, hand-picked at the peak of ripeness. The fruit is simply sliced and marinated in cold water overnight, then drained and soaked in a mixture of water and raw cane sugar (no preservatives or thickeners here). The result is this intense fragrant orange marmalade.

Marchesi di San Giuliano’s orange Marmalade also plays well in savory dishes. Mix it with chopped rosemary and a squeeze of lemon juice and use as a glaze for roasted pork loin (tip: brush it on for the last 10–15 minutes of cooking so the sugars in the marmalade don’t burn).

Since 1993, the Marchesi di San Giuliano firm has been dealing with organic plantations in a 22-acre estate located on the east coast of Sicily, between Catania and Syracuse; these are certificated by the EU and Ecogruppo Italy.
Inside the estate, the family produces oranges, avocados, olive trees, lemons, red grapefruits, mandarin oranges, and much more. All their jam production is done on the San Giuliano estate by hand in small batches with simple family recipes using organic manuring, and insects to avoid the use of pesticides.
