Rosa Dolce & Gabbana Donnafugata wine is a bottle born from the collaboration between the well-known stylistic house and the Sicilian winery: a partnership that has allowed to give birth to a much appreciated rosé wine, produced by Nerello Mascalese and Nocera blends, in equal percentage.
Nerello Mascalese has long been cultivated on volcanic soil, at high altitude, and able to bring all the mineral properties of this soil. Nocera, on the other hand, is an ancient variety that Donnafugata has rediscovered and revaluated, and after years of careful and passionate experimentation, has been introduced into the hillside vineyards of the Sicilian winery.
Once harvested, the grapes are made the protagonists of a vinification process that involves cold maceration in the press for 6 – 12 hours at a controlled temperature of 10 degrees. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats and ageing in vats for 2 months, followed by three months in bottle before being marketed.
Once the bottle is opened, Rosa Dolce & Gabbana Donnafugata wine has a beautiful soft pink color, and a bouquet reminiscent of flowers such as jasmine, and fruit such as wild strawberries, peach and bergamot. On the palate it appears particularly fine and persistent, pleasantly fragrant.
As far as pairing is concerned, this rosé wine goes very well with appetizers, vegetarian dishes, raw and main courses of fish and delicate meats. Serve at 10 degrees in a high and wide glass.
