A red wine aged in steel, Cerasuolo di Vittoria Floramundi is a wine born in Donnafugata’s cellar, the result of a pleasant balance between Nero d’Avola and Frappato grapes, whose union allows you to show off a bottle with an aromatic content, with immediately recognizable floral scents. A wine with a persistent taste and easy to match, to give and treat yourself to an unforgettable meal.
The Cerasuolo di Vittoria Floramundi wine is made with the integration of two native red berry vines, such as the aforementioned Nero d’Avola and Frappato. Varieties that the winery’s experts cultivate in vineyards located on land that tends to be sandy and calcareous, and that make it possible to generate grapes that are carefully selected with a manual harvesting process, in order to identify only the bunches that are most useful for their production purpose.
Then, the harvested grapes are involved in a process of alcoholic fermentation inside steel containers, macerating on the skins for 10 days. After vinification, the grapes are then aged in steel tanks for another 9 months. Then, the wine is ready to be bottled and put on the market.
Once the bottle is opened and poured into a glass with a medium opening, the wine has a bright ruby red colour, while its bouquet will recall floral and fragrant notes of red fruit, cherry and pepper. The taste is fresh, round, juicy and persistent. To be served at a temperature between 16 and 18 degrees, both immediately and after a period of rest in the cellar, it is traditionally paired with white or red meat, grilled fish and pizza.
