Mille e una Notte – Sicily DOC
Produced in the lands of Contessa Entellina and surrounding territories in southwestern Sicily, Donnafugata’s Mille e una Notte wine is the result of a careful selection of grapes, including Nero d’Avola, Petit Verdot, and Syrah. The grapes are carefully handpicked and fermented in steel with maceration on the skins for about 14 days. The wine is then refined for 14 months in new French oak barriques and at least 24 months in the bottle. The result is a wine with an intense ruby red color, with a complex bouquet characterized by notes of blackberry and currant fruit, minty hints, spicy notes of black pepper, and delicate nuances of sweet roasting. On the palate, it is broad and with velvety tannins, ending with a considerable taste persistence and a seductive sapidity.
