Melauro’s thistle honey is obtained from the nectar of wild thistle flowers, a plant typical of the Sicilian Mediterranean scrubland. Characterised by a beautiful light amber colour, it has a sweet, slightly acidic flavour and a floral aroma with delicate fruity nuances. Its creamy texture and medium intensity aroma make it particularly appreciated for its versatility in the kitchen. It is ideal for accompanying delicate cheeses, natural yoghurt and for sweetening hot drinks. Rich in beneficial properties, thistle honey is known for its purifying and digestive qualities, as well as for its content of natural antioxidants. Produced using traditional methods, this honey is extracted and packaged at low temperatures to best preserve all its organoleptic and nutritional properties, guaranteeing a pure, genuine product free of additives.
